Water management is highly complex but crucial for the development of the country. Mistakes are expensive and can cost lives.

The Decision Support System (DSS) provides analytical tools to discover and communicate meaningful patterns in hydrological data to support the design of adequate strategies for water management.

Andra Pradesh
Sriram Sagar Project in Godavari Basin is selected for developing a Decision Support System.Sri Ram Sagar Project is constructed across the Godavari river near Pochampad in the Balkonda Mandal of Nizambad district, Andhra Pradesh, India. 

The SRSP is Located at Latitude 180 58’ N and Long 780 20’E it comprises an earthen dam with concrete spillway and runs for a length of 10.65 km rising to a maximum height of 43 m. the gross storage is 3172 m cum. The right bank canal(Kakatiya Canal) runs for 284 Km in stage I. the Lower Maner Dam is constructed as balancing reservoir near Karimangar at Km 146 of Kakatiya canal in  G 6 Sub Basin.
 
Kadam Dam in G 5 acts as balancing reservoir for Left bank canal called Sarswathi canal. Laxmi canal (3.5 Km) and Flood Flow Canal (288 Km) are also other right bank canals from SRSP.  Stage II is an extension of Kakatiya Canal (from Km 284 to Km 346). Mid Maner Dam is proposed for stabilization of SRSP ayacut under stage-I and stage-II below Lower Maner Dam.
